... a true advocate for our son ...

We sought Katharine’s advice as our son has been having substantial difficulties settling into a school setting. Before we spoke to Katharine we were feeling pretty confused and lost as to the best next steps. In our very first meeting Kath listened carefully and asked us insightful questions that helped her understand our son and also our complete family situation.

She was immediately able to provide reassurance that there were options available to us and began to lay these out and give really clear guidance on what we should do first. Katharine followed this up super quickly with a detailed report with very practical advice that immediately allowed us to take positive action.

Katharine is clearly someone who understands the education system really well, and is able to help navigate it for students to ensure they meet their potential. Most importantly she had real empathy for our situation, treating it with care and sensitivity, giving us the confidence that as we move forward she will be alongside us acting as a true advocate for our son.

We would have no hesitation strongly recommending Katharine to any parent who needs some advice and guidance so that their child can flourish.

... immensely positive impact ...

We engaged Katharine Radice to help our daughter manage the transition between school and university, not only academically but also pastorally.  From our first interaction with Ms. Radice, we encountered a professional with the highest standards and she has had an immensely positive impact on our daughter.

From her many years as a teacher, Ms. Radice understands the adolescent mind, enabling her to connect with teenagers so that they are receptive to her excellent advice.  In the case of our daughter, Ms. Radice was able to assess and then address her individual needs, and she has always demonstrated a commitment to compassion and confidentiality.  Under Ms. Radice’s guidance, our daughter moved from strength to strength.  Ms. Radice implemented a focused strategy throughout every session, and we witnessed results quickly in our daughter’s ability and confidence. We received regular, frank emails on the progress made in each session.  Refreshingly, Ms. Radice included clear, nuanced views of our daughter’s performance.  This objective assessment pinpointed areas in need of improvement and provided a key for us as parents to understand underdeveloped areas in our daughter’s mind.

This invaluable insight resulted in the transformation of our daughter into a solid, confident student.  In just a few months, Ms. Radice taught our daughter to be an independent thinker and to express her ideas through clear, concise writing.  Our daughter has achieved her academic aspirations up to this point, and she has also developed greatly as a happy and balanced student, all of which is due enormously to the direct and kindly guidance of Ms. Radice.

... unique and practical knowledge ...

Katharine Radice is an exceptionally gifted teacher. As a teaching colleague of hers, I marvelled at her magnetic ability to hone in on the individual concerns of each student. On INSET days she used to inspire the entire teaching staff with her infectious enthusiasm for pedagogy, clearly and concisely imparting her understanding of the mechanisms by which students pick up knowledge. Her astute instincts for truth give her an ability to quickly uncover any impediments to learning which would likely go unnoticed by many teachers, parents and students themselves.

Her experience as a teacher in a classroom, a member of the senior leadership team running a large school and sixth form, an academic supervisor working within Cambridge University and a parent give her a unique and practical knowledge of the ins and outs of the UK education system. She is warm, generous, friendly and absolutely fascinating to talk to!

.... honest and clear-headed guidance ...

Ms Radice was Deputy Head when I was doing my GCSEs. She was a positive presence among students and has irrevocably boosted my academic self-belief. We could always count on her for honest and clear-headed guidance, which we so deeply valued. Meanwhile, she listened to us intently to fully understand our needs and concerns. I am grateful to have benefitted from Ms Radice’s genuine investment in the academic and personal development of her students.

... acute ability to listen and empathise ...

Ms Radice taught me both at GCSE and A Level, and constantly went above and beyond in both academic and pastoral matters.

She could always be relied upon for sensible and practical guidance, which she delivered in a compassionate and clear way. Her knowledge of the education system and the realities of being a student shone through in her suggestions. She provided me with advice and skills I use to this day in both my personal and academic life at university.

During my struggle with my mental health, I experienced first-hand her acute ability to listen to and empathise with any problem, and logically break it down into realistic solutions. Above all, she consistently prioritises the individual wellbeing of any student.

She gained the confidence of students and parents alike through her honest and rational demeanour - my parents trusted her completely, enabling her to open up a dialogue between them and myself despite my initial reluctance. Ms Radice has had a long-lasting positive impact on my life for which I will always be grateful.
